Award-winning submissions

We have written and prepared many award-winning submissions for annual award ceremonies for our clients.

STEM events

Both Fergal and Abigail are STEM ambassadors and have led and arranged multiple STEM events for their clients. They have also attended many STEM events, both for their clients and for themelves.

Benefits of STEM

  • The children from all different schools benefited from this activity
  • They were able to use the Virtual Reality head sets to view Lime Street Station, the other VR taught the children the dangers of Level Crossings and how to use them safely
  • BGCL and NR provided some gifts to give away to the children and also a presentation presented to them to give them an idea of how the rail industry works.
  • Are there any follow up actions? To promote this type of event across our projects and to ensure we do this type of event regularly.

Learnings to be shared

  • What worked well? The exhibition center was well set up and there was plenty of space on our stand to deal with approx. 25 people at any one time.
  • What could be replicated elsewhere? The entire event, which was superb and really enjoyable.
  • What would you do differently? A lot of children asked about apprentice opportunities with BGCL and NR but we had little info to share with them on this, in future I would have some information cards made up to help out.
  • What would benefit other projects? By hosting an event like this it is really enjoyable, and it demonstrates the need for all of us to engage with the younger generations and to promote careers in construction.

Careers in construction

We lead several events every year with our clients, ICE and All About STEM to promote careers in construction with young people and those returning to work or looking for a career change.

Big Bang Fair 2018 - Case Study

Liverpool Exhibition Centre, King’s Dock

  • BGCL, Network Rail, SPI Ltd and Motion Rail Ltd were involved in this activity
  • The aim of the activity was to communicate with the children from all different schools about STEM activities involved in the Railway industry, and to help promote a career in engineering.
  • The Big Bang Fair had approx. 12,000 children in attendance during the day.
